When I sit & think about all the time I spent with Dez I feel lucky that I'm someone she called to take her to her doctors appointments, physical therapy, the dentist, grocery shopping, to do laundry, drop her off to teach & all the other random trips here & there. She always had a smile for me & I can't remember a time she wasn't making me laugh. She gave me little nicknames like "fiesta" & "Mrs. Crinkle" lol. She opened her home for me & my kids, always had a hot shower & a meal for me if I needed it. She'd call & ask me to come make cake or French toast or Denver omelettes. I loved cooking for her. I wish I could have seen her one last time but I know she wouldn't want to be remembered in a hospital bed so I will do my best to replace my tears with a smile & remember all the good times we had 💙
