Curtis B. Shamel age 75, entered into rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 20th, 2018. He was born on February 4, 1943 in Uhrichsville, Ohio to C. Bruce Shamel and Dorothy
M. Kinney. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his older brother, Clarence F. Shamel.
He is survived by his younger brother William K. Shamel and wife Judy who are residents of Manteca.
Curtis was never married but has two nieces, Tracey and Valerie in Phoenix, Arizona and two nephews, Paul and Mike in Dallas, Texas which he truly loved. He also has a California niece, Kimberly who he cared for deeply. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era as a Cook at the York Military Hospital and received an Honorable Discharge on November 17, 1964. After his service he stocked shelves and ran the cash register for several different grocery stores until his back injury, which put him on disability. His hobbies were going to the store on his scooter, watching his brother bowl, watching TV and playing games on his computer He will be laid to rest in the Gnadenhutten, Ohio cemetery where his parents,' grandparents, and many other Shamel's are buried.
